Unbound is an awesome source of new books that need pledges to get published.

One such book that needs to be published is 'The Way We Played'
A Unique Time
The book looks to focus on the era from 1985 to 1993 when the legends of home computing like the ZX Spectrum and the Commodore Amiga ruled the gaming world.

It concentrates on that unique time when multi-platform video game development often lead to vastly different versions of the same game being produced to match the hardware it was being coded for.

Fab Five
The book looks at the five major platforms of the time:
  1. The Amstrad CPC
  2. Atari ST
  3. Commodore Amiga
  4. Commodore 64
  5. ZX Spectrum
Whilst focusing on this fab five the book charts the development of the best, most significant and sometimes the most under-appreciated games from the era.

The book features the following:
  • Full page or a two-page spread dedicated to each game
  • The game art
  • A mini review
  • A fact file
  • A comparison of the different versions

The book also focuses on those talents of the artists and coders whilst highlighting the limitations they faced in bringing those classic games to the home computers of the time.

The profiles of each of the five computers have specially commissioned photography and interviews with the people involved in converting those games across five very different and challenging formats.

unbound
It sounds awesome doesn't it?

I know you will all be interested in this project so why not head over to unbound and pledge some cash to make it happen............
