☆ Review: Offensive Combat: Redux "Redux, Reuse, Recycle..." ☆

I have recently played through Offensive Combat: Redux, an online First Person Shooter video game with multiple game modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag.

There are also single player modes where you can explore the maps, a shooting range to test your weapons, and an Annihilator mode where you basically play against bots that run around the map.

OC:R is really just like most other online FPS's, although they offer lots of different customisation options for your weapons and for your character, you can unlock these items through getting kills in matches which win you digital currency that you can use to unlock the different skins and weapons. There are 8 different maps you can play on which provide multiple different layouts and environments to shoot your way to victory.

The gameplay is simple, common controls for reloading, switching weapons, grenades, and jumping. It's fast paced and there are some hiding spots you can use to thwart your opponents and get the jump on them. That is, if there are people online playing that you can hide from.

My first game I played with 2 other people, so there wasn't a lot going on except us constantly finding each other. The maps seem somewhat small if there was the max amount of players in the game which I believe is 16 players including yourself. Though I never had a match with more than 5 other people, so the gameplay wasn't very exciting and got pretty dull after awhile.

Summary:
Breaking it down, OC: R is just like any other online FPS and I think there are better options out there that don't even cost money to play.

Unless you really love customisation of your character and weapons, then I don't believe that you will find this game worth the $19.99 price point because you can find much better games with better graphics, and more players to game with.

They say they have more content in the works, but I don't really see what could be added that would shoot this game over the top.
