For me, Alex Kidd in Miracle World was a game that defined my video games playing childhood. It was a game that everybody seemed to won as it was the pack-in game with the SEGA Master System II.

My best mate Paul had a Master System II and I had the Mark 1 version with the built-in snail game. When Paul got his sleek-looking Master System II I was in awe of its design and size along with the amazing built-in Alex Kidd game.

Recently I purchased an e-book entitled Fuck Yeah Video Games "The Life & Extra Lives Of A Professional Nerd by Daniel Hardcastle @DanNerdCubed as I had heard it was a great book.

When I started reading it I wasn't disappointed but for me, the best thing about this book is the lovely illustrations/cartoons by Rebecca Maughan @Mr_RebeccaThey are awesome!

I was recently flicking through a copy of Mean Machines SEGA and came across a Rumbelows advert for the SEGA Master System 2 which inspired me to doodle a picture of a Mark I SEGA Master System and some classic SMS box art.

The Commodore Amiga was awash with copied video game disks in the '90s.

If you went to a car boot sale there was always a few dodgy geezers selling copied disks out of a cardboard box on a stall in the corner of a field.

Some say that piracy was a major contribution to the eventual demise of the Commodore Amiga.

I loved my Commodore Amiga 600 and I made a habit of buying my original games from Special Reserve which was a cool mail-order video games shop.
