The Creepy Syndrome Xbox One Review 7.5/10 "Frightening Fun For Under a Fiver!" 👻 @JanduSoft @BoomfireGames #IndieGames #GameDev

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

I was lucky enough to cover Boomfire Games’ prior release - Cards of the Dead - back in 2021 around Halloween time. I was a big fan of the deck-based storytelling and simple, yet tense premise - escape from the zombie-ridden city without dying! In fact, I enjoyed the artwork and game so much that I backed the Kickstarter for the actual card game release of Cards of the Dead – and recently played through a few rounds of it during an extremely nerdy weekend board game retreat with a  group of equally nerdy friends.

The game went down a storm, and I’m already keen to play again!

And so, a few months ago when Jandusoft began to tease the release of The Creepy Syndrome, my britches were full of twitches!

🚓 Autobahn Police Simulator 2 | Review | XBOX | "Some great ideas and moments hamstrung by severe technical issues" 🚓 @zsoftware #GameDev #IndieGames

Game Title: Autobahn Police Simulator 2

Platform reviewed: XBOX ONE

Rating 4/10

Whilst the score I’m giving Autobahn Police Simulator 2 isn’t numerically high, I want to come out of the gate by stating that I enjoyed my time with the game and really look forward to seeing where the series goes next. Under the myriad of problems that exist, there is a really tasty game here, begging to be let out.

Long-time readers of my articles will know that co-op gaming really lifts me into the sky on wings of sunshine and so, when I received a couple of review codes for We Were Here Together, a first-person puzzle adventure, I instantly roped my brother in for some co-operative gold.

🛡️ Bad North: Jotunn Edition | Review | XBOX | "Mega-Lo-Mania in 3D?" 🛡️ #GameDev #IndieGames

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

This is an odd game. It's billed as a "minimalistic real-time tactics roguelite about Vikings," which just seems to be missing IN SPACE or GONE WRONG. Being a gentleman of a certain age, it reminds me a bit of Mega-Lo-Mania in 3D.

💦🍆Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry | XBOX | Review | "A surprisingly good-natured, innuendo-filled rump, er, romp" 💦🍆 @CrazyBunchTeam #IndieGames #GameDev

Platform Reviewed: XBOX ONE

Developer: CrazyBunch

Looking back over Leisure Suit Larry’s release history is long and hard. First exposing himself on our screens back in 1987, the adventures of Larry Laffer have been received in a range of ways, from standing so achingly proud that you feel worryingly light-headed to depressingly flaccid, with the last major entry in the series, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust, being as welcome in my bed as a genital-eating spider comprised entirely of clones of my father’s disapproving eyes that can only be thwarted by watching a looped, grainy VHS tape of myself weeping into a hessian sack filled with physical manifestations of suppressed memories as I’m force-fed burnt clown-hair.

I have played a LOT of golf games in my life.

From early loves such as PGA Tour Golf 2 on the Sega Mega Drive through to the arcade classic NEO Turfmasters and the myriad Tiger Woods-era EA titles, I’ve had some really good times with the genre (Not forgetting a gem that I discovered only a couple of years ago called Links 2004 on the Xbox, definitely one to try if you missed it, amazing arcade-style game. Also, Golf Story is a golden ray of light).

🏝️🔥 Isle of Spirits | XBOX | Review | "A Casual Survival Game" 🏝️🔥 @games_bullet #IndieGames #GameDev

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Isle Of Spirits is a casual survival game based on accessibility and simplicity, Isle of Spirits has some really solid ideas but is let down by an oddly rigid, unforgiving end-game and a lack of diversity in the gameplay.

Isle of Spirits begins with your character washed up on the shores of a deserted island, his goal? Escape.

To do this, you’ll need to build a raft by collecting stone, wood, plants and the like from around the island and lashing them all together so that you can sail to safety.

A mash-up of genres that kept me completely hooked for the first few hours, Vigor is a free-to-play title that stands out from the crowd but eventually devolves into standard fayre.
Set in a post-apocalyptic Norway, Vigor casts you as a lone survivor desperately trying to make a living in a series of encounters, empty except for the other players who want their bullets to connect with your head at startling speeds.

I’ve played a lot of early access games in my time at Games Freezer and I’m used to seeing games that are yet to be fleshed out, heck even ones that are more skeletal than anything!

When I installed Don’t Die, Minerva! I was surprised by how robust it felt and quickly found myself getting stuck into the gameplay.

🔫🔫 Re-Freeze – Britt’s take on the Outer Worlds 🔫🔫 #TheOuterWorlds

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
I know that my boss, ‘He Who Walks Behind The Frost’* or (‘Rich’ if you aren’t into the whole brevity thing**) was really taken with Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds, and, due to our almost psychic gaming connection, he knew that it would be something that I would find trouser-burningly interesting as well.

Being lucky enough to have been given an Xbox One S for Christmas from my dearly beloved, I instantly got hips deep into Game Pass and took full advantage by spending the festive period inhaling The Outer Worlds.

Did I like it? Yes… but with some caveats.

XBOX ONE

XBOX ONE

So Microsoft have had the gaming world's eyes on them today in order to unveil the next generation of XBOX.

The so called XBOX-ONE is now unveiled.

In our opinion the design seems a little bulky, but hey isn't that always the way so a year later Microsoft can bring out the "XBOX-ONE Slim" or are we just too cynical here in the Freezer?

Anyway, Wired.Com got first dibs on the Exclusive first look at the XBOX ONE so click on the link and see what the good people of Wired have to say about the Big Black Box.

So what are your first impressions of this Next Generation Bohemoth?
