Two of Japan’s most iconic game directors—SWERY (Deadly Premonition) and SUDA51 (No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw)—have teamed up to deliver a blood-soaked fever dream. HOTEL BARCELONA, their long-awaited slasher roguelite, is officially live.
Set inside a twisted hotel overrun by America’s most notorious serial killers, this surreal hack ’n’ slash roguelite invites players to fight, die, repeat—and maybe uncover the truth behind the entity clawing at their sanity.
🎮 What’s the Setup?
You play as Justine, a federal marshal investigating a bizarre hotel when an ancient evil known as Dr. Carnival imbues her with terrifying powers. As she explores the resort’s horror-themed floors, she discovers the Seven Slasher Killers—each inspired by classic horror subgenres—and must battle her way to answers.
Roguelite combat with evolving powers and ghostly echoes of past failures
PvE co-op for up to 3 players or PvP invasion mode to sabotage your friends
A twisted narrative full of grotesque humour, surreal horror, and bizarre characters (yes, the bartender is obsessed with ears)
“It may have sounded like a joke in 2019,” says SWERY, “but jokes evolve. What remains is blood, laughter, and a beautiful nightmare. This wasn’t a game I wanted to make—it was one I had to make.”
📺 Watch the Trailer
