πŸ’₯ Life on Mars - Genesis | "It takes us into a realm on the Sega Mega Drive that gets my blood pumping" πŸ’₯

Life On Mars: Genesis is the next game from Kai Magazine Software, the company that brought us Metal Dragon. Whereas that game was a humorous run ‘n gun title, Life On Mars: Genesis takes us into a realm on the Sega Mega Drive that gets my blood pumping almost as much as RPGs on the system, Metroidvania. The Mega Drive was starved of several genres – and true sequels to Landstalker… - and the Metroidvania genre was certainly one of those.

From the website:

‘A scientific colony was established on Mars and frozen life was found in the Martian ice, a bacterium.

Shortly afterwards, Earth lost contact with the colony.

9 months later, a ship from Earth finally reached Mars and a technician was sent to repair the communications array.

Playing as said technician, you must find out what happened to the colony.’

Whilst it’s always a pleasure to cover new games for Sega’s most reliable (and very clearly my personal favourite) system, this is the first time that I feel that an underdog genre on the console has been approached with a modern sensibility.

All the details that we have are listed below, but make no mistake, this is definitely one to keep your peepers on!

Full review is on the way in the coming months.
