We’ve covered a few Turtle Beach products here at GF, and today we’re going to take a look at the Turtle Beach Kone II:
The mouse makes a great impression straight out of the box with the bold design, and smoothness of use. The Kone II is a wired mouse, and as such there’s no need to worry about dongles and charging etc. as that’s covered by the braided USB-A cable that feels practical and robust as well as being lightweight.
The Kone II has two side-strips of RGB lighting as well as a lit mouse-scroll, which is initially set up to phase through the colours with a breathing effect. This is also customisable, and you can fiddle with the brightness of the LEDs as well as the many effects and colours on offer – all of this is explained clearly in the included quick start guide.Customisation is very much the name of the game here, with included grip tape hinting at the fact that this is a mouse intended for some serious usage. All buttons can be customised and tied to various key commands, I’ve used the mouse for days on end, and the design is extremely comfortable, the quick-tap ability to select scroll speeds on the fly is a nice touch. After only a couple of minutes of setup, I really felt like I had personalised the Kone II perfectly to suit my needs, it’s very comfortable to use for long sessions, and the black design means that it’s a pretty universal colour scheme to match the rest of your setup.
I have to mention the smoothness of the glide when in use, it’s extremely accurate and satisfying, and that single-click ability to adjust scroll speeds mean that you can flip from office work straight through to your gaming preferences instantly, however different they may be.
SUMMARY
The Turtle Beach Kone II is an impressive mouse at the price point, with an incredible amount of customisation on offer without breaking the bank.

Out of curiosity, I switched back to the previous mouse I was using mid-review, and was surprised at how ‘claw-like’ my hand felt whilst holding the previous mouse, which has been a standard of mine for some time, I have medium-sized hands, but the slight over-sizing of the Kone II allows my hand to relax into a more natural position and it has certainly aided comfort during long work days and gaming sessions, the Kone II gets a big thumbs up from us here at GF!
