A Pizza Delivery Xbox Series X Review
The first release from Spanish video game developer Eric Osuna, A Pizza Delivery is a game that overreaches its grasp, but is painfully close to being a glorious experience, blending as it does a scattered narrative with simple mechanics.

Although, as much as certain sections of the game appealed to me, there were too many aspects that dragged my interest down, eventually making the game feel a bit meandering and light as opposed to being the vehicle to a budding realisation as the narrative would perhaps like me to believe.

You are B, a young pizza delivery driver who is tasked with delivering pizzas in an abstract landscape, the controls – both pedestrian and vehicular – feel a tad floaty and loose, but that just adds to the dreamlike vibe in this case, even if it does make traversal a bit unsatisfactory.

Following a phone call received whilst chilling upon a grassy knoll, you are told to follow the overhead electricity pylons which will guide you to your next delivery.

This sets up the main thrust of the game, which is making your way through to the final delivery whilst also solving some environmental puzzles along the way through the very different areas and locations that you will pass through, you also come across a handful of other characters that you are able to share a pizza with.

These interactions bring to the fore the more human aspects of the game as these characters discuss being stuck in a rut, or are perhaps unsure of themselves or the life they are leading.

SUMMARY
If you are a reflective person, playing A Pizza Delivery could well be up your strasse, but I found the minimalist approach throughout – which extends to the dialogue, depth of characters, and audio - a tad too slight to really engage me.

A breezy game to play of an evening, but not one that will stay in my mind for too long, sadly.
