GX Trust Auron: A Lightweight, Plug‑and‑Play Powerhouse for Gamers and Podcasters

I used the Auron for a few episodes of my recent podcast recording, and was deeply impressed by what it offered in terms of high audio quality delivered in a practical way.
The cradle and design mean that unwanted ambient ‘knock’ sounds are minimised, whilst the ease of use and simplicity of setup make this a true plug-and-play beauty, with the volume a silent disc on the base that can be twisted to raise the gain, or lower it. There aren’t many frills here, and that certainly works to the Auron’s strengths.
The Auron is very clearly designed to be as silent and practical as possible, and the lightweight design means that it’s easy to transport and pack away, far less cumbersome than others of its ilk.
It’s actually replaced my previous microphone as I was having some ambient noise issues, and the only niggle that I can find with the Auron is the fact that the phasing lights include red, which is the colour that the Auron uses when the mic is muted, and this can be a trifle unsettling when you glance at the microphone during a chat, if you happen to do so at a time when the RGB lighting is cycling red, as you feel like the mic is muted for a second before the light phases into the next cycle of colour.
I do feel that the red should be excluded from the Auron’s standard colour cycle and only used when muted; it would be far less panic-inducing! The product may be a bit too lightweight for some tastes, but as I tend to move around and pack/unpack, it’s a boon for me, personally.
