Documentary Review: Goldenera The Legend of GoldenEye 007 Revealed 🎬🎮 @GoldenEraDoco #RetroGaming #007 #JamesBond

A full-length documentary about ‘the most important video game ever made’, Goldenera is a pretty robust documentary that covers the background, creation, release, and impact of Rare’s seminal 1997 title, Goldeneye.

A title that fuelled millions of hours of gaming upon its release, and for a lot of people, was the nucleus for some of their most treasured videogame memories.

📘 Bitmap Books – Game Boy: The Box Art Collection | Book Review By Britt | "an extremely tasty tome" 📘 @bitmap_books #RetroGaming #GameBoy

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

I’ve heard nothing but good things about Bitmap Books’ prior releases and so was keen to get hips deep in this, their most recent project. The book definitely lived up to the weighty expectations and really feels of a high quality throughout its almost 400-page heft.

Some days I find myself trying to draw stuff in MS Paint and those are the days when I manage to produce BADLY DRAWN VIDEO GAMES CONSOLES!

My plan is to draw as many badly drawn consoles as I can in 2021.

Let's see how far I get...

📖📚 Mean Machines Magazines - All The Video Games Reviews - Issue 0-24 "The Video Games Guide You Didn't Realise That You Wanted" 📖📚 @JazRignall @RetroGamerDaz @MaximumPowerUp #MeanMachines #Retrogaming

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

Well, I've gone and done something with my Mean Machines Magazine collection that I've always wanted to do but have never got round to doing until now.

For some reason, I wanted to catalogue all the reviews from Issue 0 to 24 so that if I ever need to refer to a physical edition of Mean Machines then I know exactly what issue I need to look at.

Yes it's nerdy and yes it is a bit silly but I think that it's something that you probably didn't realise you need but you do now!

🏹 Valentina | Nintendo Switch | Review | "A Micro-Budget Title From Brazil" 🏹 #GameDev #IndieGames

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Currently 89p on the Switch eShop, Valentina is very much priced correctly in term of what it offers players.

A Brazilian platformer, Valentina tells the story (through broken English) of our titular heroine as she bows-and--arrowses (definitely a term) her way through a 2D world to destroy the encroaching Dark Empire over 40 stages of action.

🕹️🎮 The Argos Catalogue & Video Games in the 1970s, 80s & 90s | A Trip Down Memory Lane 🕹️🎮 #RetroGaming @Argos_Online

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Growing up in the UK as a kid during the 1970s, 80s and 90s meant that the Argos catalogue was a British kid's go-to piece of literature should you want to plan your next birthday or Christmas presents.

My first port of call was always the Video Games section which I looked at on a daily basis leading up to Christmas and Birthdays. My sister and I would play the Argos catalogue game where you would have to choose one item to buy from EVERY page and then initial it. I'd often end up having to circle and initial a duvet set that I didn't want to be followed by a Corby trouser press.

When we got to the Video Games section though the choice would be impossible to make as I was presented with all the latest video games related accessories and consoles!

My love for the Argos catalogue has carried on to this day and I still pick up a copy to circle items while playing the catalogue game.

Then something special happened recently when I stumbled across the Argos Book Of Dreams website which Argos have pulled together to make every Argos catalogue available online in a digital format! argosbookofdreams.co.uk

🕹️ Video Game Hardware Timelines - Nintendo Timeline - 1889 to 2017 🕹️ #Retrogaming #Nintendo

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
After doing a SEGA timeline and having a first stab at a Nintendo Timeline in the articles below I decided to take another look at the Nintendo Timeline and fit it into the style of the one I did for SEGA as it seems to visually display the timeline in a better way.

Nintendo started out in 1889 with cards and then moved into video games in 1977. The rise and rise of Nintendo from then onwards has been documented millions of times over the years with only a few bumps in the road such as the Virtual Boy in 1995 and some even point to the GameCube or the Wii U as being failures but I don't think so.

So here just for you is the NINTENDO HARDWARE TIMELINE 1889 to 2017...

🍨 Pang Man Part 37: A trip to the Kirby Café 🍨 #Kirby

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
On my previous visit to Japan in 2016 I was gutted when I missed out on going to the Kirby Café restaurant, so this time I was delighted to find out that the Kirby Café pop up was returning on dates which coincided with my own.
However, this excitement was short-lived when I discovered that the café had been booked up in for months in advance.
Undeterred I decided to visit the venue, anyway, have a quick look around and hopefully, take a few photos.
