I tried out a few different genres on the system, but the game that I found myself really diving into over that period was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, which really ended up highlighting the strengths of the peripheral.
The GXT 735 Mylox Wireless mobile Gaming Controller can be played for up to twelve hours before needing a recharge – which then takes three hours to recharge, but you can use whilst charging – and is very snappy in its approach to everything.
In terms of ergonomics, getting the phone in situ, and setting everything up was an absolute breeze, connectivity was spot-on, and whilst the controller is light, it reeks of definitive quality, with the triggers begin Saturn-esque and clicky, the thumbsticks smooth as butter, and the D-Pad feeling responsive.
The buttons on the facia move away from the clicky vibe of the shoulder buttons, but also feel satisfying to press, with just the right amount of reaction response to multiple quick presses for those more intense gaming experiences...like Track & Field.
I played this controller for hours and it’s very comfortable in the hands, even the charging port s cleverly in the left ‘heel’ of the system so doesn’t get in the way when in use, and the RGB lighting around the thumbsticks adds that little touch of flair, with several selectable options being available in terms of lighting and colouring. There is also a turbo mode (for the shmup fans out there!).
The GXT 735 Mylox Wireless mobile Gaming Controller is a fantastic piece of gaming kit for those out there that are hips deep into their mobile gaming. It’s not as bulky as other units I’ve used, and the feel in the hand is engaging, it’s another thumbs up from us here at GF!
