wii mod

Me and my Wii are best buddies again…
I used to neglect my bright white, dusty friend….
I only ever really used him for when we had non gamer guests over who wanted to partake in a casual game of bowling or standing on the Wii balance board to head imaginary footballs……
Then last week this all changed……
I wrote my article on how I was going to resurrect my Wii <HERE> and since then the Wii resurrection has consumed me!
I've written before about the XBOX being a great emulation machine (once modded) but in my opinion the Wii surpasses the great XBOX.
So…..why all of a sudden is the Wii my best retro gaming emulation friend?
Well here's why…………
1. IT'S SUPER EASY TO MOD
2. THE EMULATORS LOOK GREAT AS CHANNELS ON THE Wii SYSTEM MENU
3. ONCE THE Wii HAS BEEN MODDED YOU CAN SET UP EMULATORS DIRECTLY FROM THE Wii WITHOUT HAVING TO TRANSFER ANYTHING FROM AN SD CARD
4. THE Wii CONTROLLER WORKS REALLY WELL WITH GAMES FROM THE OFF
5. VAST AMOUNTS OF EMULATORS ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO DOWNLOAD
What Do You Need To Get Started?
All you need is an SD card (small capacity of 2 Gig will be sufficient) and a computer and you are ready to roll.
I followed this awesome tutorial from The Games Shed and I was up and running in less than an hour.....

Now I am constantly on the Wii Homebrew Browser checking what great emulators are out there so I can advance my emulation experience.
The overall emulation experience once modded feels like the Wii was born to emulate!
I'm still waiting for my new classic controller to arrive along with my component cables upgrade and this will further enhance the gaming experience I'm sure.
I can't recommend enough that you get involved in the Wii mod scene as soon as you can, it will truly make you look at your potentially redundant Wii in another light!
Take a look at these great sites that helped me with all my Wii Modding needs:

  1. wiibrew.org
  2. hackmii.com
  3. webrewwii.blogspot.co.uk
  4. The Games Shed
