Gulikit Elves 2 Pro Controller Review
There are a lot of controllers out there in the world, and sometimes something comes along that scratches a specific itch that you may not even know that you had. I believe that this is the first Gulikit product that we have covered here at GF, and it’s a heck of a product to kick off with!

Available in two versions – black or retro - the Elves 2 Pro Controller gives very strong Sega Saturn controller vibes in the feel and style, with the ‘black’ being reminiscent of the EU/US Saturn pad and the ‘Retro’ nailing that much-loved Japanese Saturn controller vibe.Featuring a hefty rumble that can be flicked between three different levels of intensity, the controller sits comfortably in the hand with a nice heft to it, giving a sense of sturdiness and quality. Both the d-pad and thumbsticks are smooth to use, feeling accurate and responsive, with the ergonomic design and concave dips for the d-pad and face buttons really sitting pleasantly in the hand when in use. Whilst the face buttons are silent to press, the shoulder and trigger buttons take a different approach and again recall the official Saturn controller with that satisfying ‘click’ that I know oh so well!

The Elves 2 Pro connects swiftly and definitely with the systems paired, and a handy – and subtle - switch on the back allows you flick between PC, iOS, or Switch, below this is a tiny button that instantly knocks the controller off, perfect for battery saving (the controller automatically powers off after fifteen minutes, if not in use). The more I used the Elves 2 Pro, the more I found myself preferring it as my main controller for the Switch due to its comfortable weight and wonderfully retro vibe (I have many fantastic memories of the Saturn).
Gulikit Elves 2 Pro Controller Review
In terms of charging, the Elves 2 Pro can be used whilst charging through a USB-C cable, one of which is included in the box – speaking of which, along with the controller and cable, there is also a Gulikit sticker included as well as something I wasn’t expecting, a frosted plastic case for the Elves 2 Pro. For those of us with multiple systems and a lot of controllers hanging aroun, this is is an absolute BOON, not just for travel purposes (we tend to take the Switch when we stay in hotels), but also as protection when the controller is put in a drawer with others, keeping it safe not only from nocks and dings, but also dust etc. it is a snug fit as well, and happily something I would pay an extra few quid to have, so definitely a saucy bonus inclusion.

As well as an aim assist function for FPS titles on PC, 4/8 way selection on the d-pad, a continuous fire (turbo) function, and the adjustable rumble strength, you can also select whether the rumble is in rotary motor mode, Gulikit Maglev Haptic mode, or HD vibration mode – not to mention the Auto Pilot Gaming Function (APG), which allows you to record a string of commands FOR UP TO TEN MINUTES. So I’m sure this will be of use to certain folks out there who love the fighting game genre.

SUMMARY
The Elves 2 Pro is a beast of a controller that offers an incredible amount of options in terms of accessibility and customisation. I’m genuinely surprised by how much I was taken by its retro vibe and style. Quite frankly, the only real negative I can think of is that it may be a tad on the small side for those with quite large hands, but for everyone else? This is a seriously big recommendation from GF!
