๐Ÿงฉ Infuriating Puzzles in Video Games ๐Ÿงฉ

We all have them.

Those puzzles which will instantly make us sag forwards and sigh at the floor.

For me, it’s light refraction puzzles. I CAN NOT abide them. Every time I come across them in a game, I shut my mind off to enjoyment and – with gritted teeth – power through, just to get to the next section.

I’ve - again - chatted to my GF colleagues and they’ve responded with the puzzle types that make them yank out clumps of their own hair and offer it as a gift to Satan; clock puzzles, book puzzles, statues, jigsaws, sliding puzzles...it’s all there.

“It’s got to the point where I don’t even know if I enjoy complex puzzles anymore.

Growing up in the ‘90s with graphic adventures and inventory-based stuff, it felt fun and narrative-driven, regardless of how absurd the outcome, I mean, I’m playing a game, I don’t care how ridiculous the answer is, just don’t be boring.”

“As I moved through gaming in the ‘90s, you’d get the usual key/gem/amulet etc. which was all when and good, but occasionally there’s be times when you’d have to rearrange shattered glass or parts of ripped-up paper and I just couldn’t feign enthusiasm for them.”

“Clock puzzles...I’ve NEVER thought, ‘this game needs more clock puzzles’”

Which puzzles make you eat your own shoes in wild fits of furious rage?
