As a casual fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd since around the late noughties, I was quite looking forward to the release of the game based on his exploits, although I had no idea what to expect.

The 2013 AVGN game and 2016 sequel came out on PC and were very much what was needed, a tongue-in-cheek take on the platforming genre that was so well designed that it was clearly going to appeal to people outside of the AVGN fan-base, it was a great, challenging game that didn’t outstay its welcome.

My lasting memories were of awesome music, frustration and satisfaction in perfectly equal measure and a sense of fun; I had an awesome time with them.

My personal history with the Assassin’s Creed series is pretty chequered, I played the original but didn’t really click with it and, following this, the constant releases, spin-offs and other media just alienated me slightly as the lore seemed to get ever-more dense.

I did dip back in with Black Flag on the PS3 at a friend’s suggestion but it seemed to run pretty sluggishly and once again, I didn’t connect with it.

It was actually earlier this year during lockdown that the stars aligned and teased me once again with the franchise.

My brother mentioned how much fun he was having with Odyssey and heartily recommended it just as I was after an open-world RPG to lose myself in (after completing The Witcher 3 for the second time as well as Kingdom Come: Deliverance) plus my fiancรฉe was somewhat obsessed with the various soundtracks on Spotify, I was being attacked from all directions and so I decided once again to give it a try, and I’m glad I did.

The gaming market is bigger than ever before, and that's especially true of the indie scene. For gamers that are sick of battle royales and Souls-likes, that's a refreshing promise.

But the constant flow of new indie and AAA games can be overwhelming if you aren't following it studiously.

But with 2020 coming to a close, here are the online games you should be paying attention to.

Undead Darlings on the Switch is a game that I’d never heard of before a few weeks ago but now it’s a game that I am repeatedly picking up my Switch to play on a daily basis.

It’s a game that brings a smirk to your face through its goofy humour and its oddball storyline and it’s keeping me coming back for more of the same.

It’s a good mix of a Japanese visual novel-style storytelling with a heavy splash of dungeon crawling and a sprig of turn-based RPG lite combat. Bake that in an oven with battling cupcakes that are actually zombified creatures that were possessed by a mysterious virus and you get a gloriously ridiculous video game plot that kinda works...you still with me?

๐ŸŽฐ "The First-Ever Retro Slot Machines Review" ๐ŸŽฐ #RetroGaming

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On

There’s a side of retro gaming from the arcades scene that probably doesn’t get enough coverage and that is Retro Slot Machines from the ’80s and ’90s.

Whilst taking a retrogaming trip down memory lane my first thoughts will normally drift towards the likes of the Golden Axe arcade and Outrun games of the ’80s and the NBA Jam cabinets of the ’90s.

But nestled at the back of every arcade was and still is those fruit machines from the past that are forever etched in our memories with their flashing lights and awesome artwork emblazoned across the front of them.

As a kid, I was allowed to play the 10p slot machines and the 2p OXO machines and then as I grew up and visited pubs and bars more often I would play a few goes on the pub and kebab shop machines whilst waiting for my mates to get the drinks in.

So, which retro slot machines get my nostalgia gland working overtime?

Well, let’s see if I can give you 5 of the best retro slot machines from my childhood and teenage years so as you can see how far we’ve come from these retro slot machines right up until today’s online slots and you’ll also see how very similar to online slots these legends of the slots world are!

5. Barcrest - Crystal Maze - 1992
Does it get more 90’s than a Crystal Maze Fruit Machine? I don’t think so! It was everyone’s favourite TV show in the 90’s alongside Games Master and the slot machine was so much fun to play with its Crystal Maze themed boards.

4. Maygay - Eastenders - 1994
With the art design based on Albert Square, this was a classic slot machine that would be guaranteed to pull a crowd in any pub or chip shop across the UK.

3. Maygay - Homer’s Meltdown - 1999
A Simpson’s based slot machine has universal appeal across the world and this slot was lots of fun to play back in the day. I’ll always try and find one of these machines when I’m in an arcade but alas there’s too many about nowadays.

2. Barcrest - Addams Family - 2001
Being a big fan of the Addams Family movies this was always a big draw of a machine for me and one that still plays well to this day. If you see it, play it and just listen out for those awesome sound effects! (just look at that artwork!)

1.Bell Fruit - Football Crazy
Being a massive football fan means that any time I played this fruity then it would put a massive smile on my face. Good luck finding this in the wild though as I haven’t played it in years!

๐Ÿ•ถ️๐ŸŽฐ VR and How it is Impacting Online Slots ๐ŸŽฐ๐Ÿ•ถ️

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Over the years the online slot industry has proven itself to be incredibly adept at using new technology to make its games even more popular amongst the gamblers of the world, and it has got to the point where the online slot industry dwarfs any other part of the overall gambling market in 2020. There are far more people gambling online, for example, and the vast majority of those are doing so on the range of excellent modern online slots available today.

Playing slots like Centurion by Inspired Gaming can make it seem as though the market has reached the end of its development, as these games really are just that good. But here’s the thing: the slots industry has never been one to sit still, and ever since Charles D. Fey’s day it has constantly sought to be as innovative as possible. The most exciting new development in the field has got to be VR in regard to online slots, a new piece of technology that could flip the entire industry on its head. But what is VR, and how is it impacting online slots at www.wizardslots.com? Read ahead to find out!
