Z-Software recently presented Xbox One players the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Autobahn Police Simulator 2.

Britt got the chance to review this hidden gem of a game and today we are having a few words with the devs to see what makes them tick...

Who are you and what do you do?
Toby: Hey I'm Toby and the producer for Z-Software. My day to day business consists of organizing tasks and making sure the team knows what we are trying to accomplish at the moment and that everybody has all the information/assets necessary for their work.

What consoles and computers did you grow up playing?
Toby: Growing up with games from an early age I spent most of my time playing on consoles like the SEGA Megadrive, the first Playstation, the PS2, PSP and Xbox 360.
Nowadays I'm playing on most current-gen consoles and on PC.

What are your top 3 video games of all time?
Toby: Tough one, because there are a lot of awesome games out there. But here is my pick from more recent titles:
1.The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
2. Kingdom Hearts
3. Nier Automata.

When did you start making video games?

Toby: I started studying Game Design back in October 2016 and got my first job back in January this year, while I was still writing my Bachelor Thesis for university. I started working for Z-Software in July.

What are your biggest things you focus on when creating games?
Toby: I always try to balance between getting the best results out of our games and getting the best out of the people working on it. I’m always focussed on making workflows easier and more accessible for the team, so everyone can focus on the task at hand.

What developer do you most admire in the video games industry and why?
Toby: In recent years I’ve come to admire lots of independent developers for the sheer amount of passion and dedication they put towards their respective games.
As someone who follows a lot of indie developers, it’s really inspiring and awesome to see their passion come to life in form of very unique or creative ways and games. I love the fact that many indies don’t shy away from tackling sensitive or unconventional themes and topics in their games.

What video games are you playing right now?
Toby: At the moment I’m replaying Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice because of the recent update and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
What type of video game is Autobahn Police Simulator 2?
Toby: Autobahn Police Simulator 2 is a mix between Simulation and Action-Adventure with some roleplay Elements to it e.g. upgrades for different character skills or unlocking new Equipment.

What is Autobahn Police Simulator 2 all about?
Toby: Autobahn Police Simulator 2 is all about bringing the experience of real-life police work to our players. Therefore we use different types of emergencies and missions, partially based on real cases, which are related to the actual work of a police officer patrolling German highways.

When is it due out and what systems will it be available on?
Toby: The Xbox One Version just released the other day on November the 4th.
Currently, it’s available for Steam, Playstation 4 and now Xbox One/Series X.

Where can we find out more?
