Of all the video games that I have played over the years, the most time I have spent in front of a computer screen was always with football management games.

(closely followed by Soccer Video Games )

It's been an obsession of mine for years. Ever since I played Football Manager 2 on my mate Briggsy's Amstrad CPC I just knew this was the genre for me.

For the last few years, I've often looked for a definitive guide to this sub-genre of video games which listed out the games in date order, but alas I could never find the appropriate tome that satisfied this itch of mine.

So, I decided to sit down and trawl through YouTube video forums and website articles to create a list of 100 Football Management Video Games released from 1982 to 1999.

It's been fun and now I have a nice little list of video games to work my way through.

I've also marked the cream of the crop with a golden ball to denote the best games in that list of 100.

It's been fun and hopefully, you enjoy my creation:

  1. Football management games really began with Kevin Toms’ Football Manager in 1982 on the ZX81 and Spectrum. Simple text tactics, leagues and transfers that created a whole genre. The 90s added real depth with Championship Manager. That list of 100 titles from 1982–99 is a great trip down memory lane. If you’re sorting through old game boxes or hardware, https://affordablewastemanagement.co.uk/ handles the disposal side cleanly. Pure nostalgia for the pioneers of the genre.
