What New World Items Can Players Get In Nightveil Hallow

Pumpkins Galore!

Amazon Games launched a Halloween-themed event for New World called the Nightveil Hallow. During the event, players could play a unique set of circumstances in the MMO that’ll have them battling against pumpkin-headed opponents and a major boss designed to freak the pants off you. We’re talking about Baalphazu and his Pumpkinites—the villains trying to spread eternal Nightmare across the world of Aeternum. Players who defeat this boss will be rewarded with spooky New World items.

Following Traditions

Nightveil Hallow is when people adorn their homes with jack-o-lanterns and wear frightful masks. More importantly, it’s when the ghouls and shades gather in the darkest places. The tradition of placing these pumpkins and wearing masks is done to ward off Pumpkinites and Baalphazu, otherwise known as the Marquis of terror. Unfortunately, the otherwordly creature has unleashed a deadly curse. Enter Maledicta Figurarum, the curse of shapes. The sorcery transforms harmless pumpkins into the dreaded Pumpkinites. Before the island becomes a living nightmare, players with New World accounts must stop Baalphazu and his hellish minions.

Starting the Nightveil Hallow Event

To start Nightveil Hallow for New World, your character must be at least level 35 to unlock the quest line. This is unfortunate news for the new players, but if you’re already a max-level player or—at the very least—slightly above the threshold, you won’t be running into any problems.

Now that we have that information out of the way, head to any settlement with the Nightveil Cauldron. At this cauldron, you’ll find someone named Salvatore standing next to it. Salvatore the Mad and his cauldron can be found in every settlement in New World; he’s usually located in a centralized area. Speak to Salvatore, and he’ll tell you about the foe you must face for the event. After the introduction, you can start Baalphazu’s Fall quest and gain access to the Nightveil Shop. We recommend finishing the quest before you start tinkering with the shop.

Baalphazu’s Location

Baalphazu spawns in various locations; you’ll know he’s spawned if a purple flashing icon appears on your map. However, instead of checking only one location, there are six places to look over:

  • Brightwood

  • Weaver’s Fen

  • Ebonscale Reach

  • Mourningdale

  • Edengrove

  • Great Cleave

Baalphazi will spawn in one of these locations, so look through them. We recommend that you do this with a large group, though. That’s because when you finally find Baalphazu, he can easily wipe you out if you don’t have plenty of tankers, healers, and players that can do sustained damage. You’ll ideally want multiple groups that’ll actively contribute to the fight. One or two whole groups won’t be enough when taking on Baalphazu.

More Information About Baalphaz

Baalphazu is a Level 66 world boss encounter. In addition to using melee combos and swipes, he has two special attacks—each with a voice line to indicate to players that they’re about to happen.

When Baalphazu says, “You will suffer, maggot!” he’s about to make his mall pull attack. The attack will create an AoE with green flames, and players caught in it will be pulled into Baalphazu’s melee range. Avoid being pulled by either dodging this attack before it goes off or going entirely out of his range when he starts the attack.

The other special attack is accompanied by the lines “The shadows will claim your soul!” or “Your stark terror sustains us!”. Baalphazu will do damage in a doughnut-shaped AoE around him, reducing roughly 70% of your max health if caught in it. To avoid this, you need to be closer or farther to him. You can also dodge it, but it has to be well-timed.

Reaping the Rewards

Once you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll be rewarded with Baalphazu’s Ichor, an item you must bring to the Nightveil Cauldron. To complete the quest, talk to Salvatore for the last time and get your Nightveil Hallow Cache. The Nightveil Hallow Cache grants players a Cauldron’s Coin pouch, uncommon weapon patterns, and Nightveil Tokens. The patterns help you create new weapons, while the tokens are used to get exclusive cosmetics from the Nightveil Hallow Shop.

Turning in the Ichor will also reward you with Event Reputation. This time around, there are two ranks: Fledgling and Nightveil Sentinel. If you have a Fledgling reputation (Rank 1), you can unlock the cosmetics, furniture, and emotes in the event shop. But should you put in the effort to reach the Nightveil Sentinel reputation (Rank 2), you can unlock patterns for weapons and shields that have a 600 Gear Score.

To get the event-exclusive items from the Nightveil Hallow Shop, you’ll need to spend Nightveil Tokens. You can exchange these tokens for items, including house decorations and outfits. This is the best way to do it if you ever wanted a witch hat or a pumpkin helmet for your character.

Will Baalphazu Make A Return?

Nightveil Hallow has concluded for 2022. With Baalphazu already vanquished, is there a chance for the boss and his Pumpkinites to return? Yes, we think so. Baalphazu’s reign of terror isn’t over by any means—players merely subdued him for the time being. Gamers eager to farm seasonal New World items can expect more in-game events like this to pop up in the game. And hopefully, there will be more new and exclusive cosmetics next year where you don’t have to spend a lot of New World gold.
