Today we welcome Elin into the Games Freezer and learn more about her video gaming history.

Elin is one of our fave Twitter retro gaming peeps and she lives in beautiful Sweden with her awesome video games & console collection.

Let's sit down with a nice glass of whisky and have a chat in the Freezer...

1. What's your earliest video gaming memory?

"My earliest gaming memory is jumping on trains in North & South (NES) with my dad. I can't remember how old I was though!

2. What was the first video game console that you owned?
My first console was the NES, but I don't remember much from it. Apparently, we had North & South, Super Mario Bros and Castlevania, but i only remember North & South.

Then we got a SNES which i remember more of - watching my brother play Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

3. How did you get into the retro gaming scene?

I'm not sure, but when i was about 14 I was in a bad place and gaming was my sanctuary. I had my xbox 360 but only four games or something - which i played so many times... so i got bored and looked around for other games. That's when i found out about emulators. I thought it was fun reliving some memories!

Then i started dating a guy who introduced me to AVGN and other youtubers who taught me more about retro games that i missed out on. Eventually i bought a NES and continued to buy and play retro consoles and games! Around 2014 i started using twitter, and it has been a blast to interact with other retrogamers!

4. What's your favourite video game of all time?

I always say that my favourite video game is the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It's the perfect game in my opinion. I love puzzles, exploring and collectibles! The sprites are beautiful and the music is great. Though there are also some other games that are approaching the first place, such as fable 2 and 3!

5. What's your favourite console of all time?

My favorite console has been different each year. At the moment i'm really loving the 360, it has a special place in my heart and i love the games. I also love Super Nintendo, but i think of all the consoles i've owned, the xbox 360 is the most played.

6. What's your favourite arcade game of all time?

I never went to the arcades, but i've played some of the "arcade classics" on other platforms. I love space invaders and asteroids!

7. What's your favourite sandwich?

My favorite sandwhich varies a lot as well! Sometimes it's just a sandwhich with melted cheese, or a sandwhich with cheese and cucumber and some spices! I also really love ciabatta with cheese, ham and cucumber.

8. What's your favourite cuisine?

My English isn't the best, but i think i know what cuisine is! That's a tough one. I love Swedish food of course, especially Smörgåstårta! My favorite food is beef  - entrecote and tenderloin. Again, my English isn't the best especially when it comes to food! (Smörgåstårta looks awesome! - Rich)

9. What's your favourite alcoholic drink?

I love a cold beer during summer, but i think my favorite alcoholic drink is Red Wine! I don't like anything too strong.

10. What current generation video games do you play?

I'm trying to play more PS4, it's in the living room right now and is only being used for Netflix and YouTube. But i have plans of moving it into the games room soon and then i'll play Shadow of Mordor!

11. Who's your fave person to follow on Twitter?

That's a really hard question, there's a lot of people i love to follow on twitter. @bitlandgaming's art is great and is really fun to talk to, but there's so many others - if i were to start mentioning them the list would be soooo long!

12. What's your favourite video game genre?

My favorite video game genre is probably Action Adventrue or RPG. I used to absolutely love FPS games, but when i try to play them now i just die all the time, i'm terrible. I don't know how i could be so good before!

13. If you were a console, which one would you be and why?

If i was a console i would be... the Playstation 1, perhaps. At least the age is correct. I would make jokes about ugly graphics, difficult to control sometimes and awkard with the camera. But i won't do that....

14. Can you recommend a good retro gaming shop?

I would recommend Spel & Sånt. I rarely visit retro gaming shops as there's none near me, but sometimes i travel to spel & sånt. I also shop from them online, and they send candy with the games. They're awesome!

15. If you were going to do a Cosplay tomorrow, what would it be and why?

I don't have anything at home that could be used as some kind of cosplay, so if i could buy any cosplay stuff i want i would go as Lich King, probably. Not a female version of Lich King, i want to really look like him!

16. We love your awesome console setup that you post on Twitter, what's your most cherished item in your games collection?

Thank you! That would probably be my oil panic game & watch. I had just found out about game & watch and i thought that i would love to own one. Little did i know, i already did. I found it in a box under my bed! It was my dad's, which makes it special. Like, it's not something i bought second hand, so that's pretty neat.

I hope that's ok, i'm not very good at this!"

Thanks Elin, that's a great insight into your gaming story.

Right, i'm off to eat Smörgåstårta! Yum Yum!
