Cue the GXT 709 Luminus RGB Gaming Desk, a glorious piece of furniture that – quite literally – highlights when it’s time to chill out and game.
Arriving in flatpack form, the GXT 709 Luminus RGB Gaming Desk is quite easy to set up, and feels robust, with the exception of the rubber cable covering underneath the table exposing the MDF internals a little too much, and not sitting quite as snugly as I’d like. That said, it’s all tucked away underneath, and not visible at all when in use, unless you stream underneath your table with an LED torch, anyway.
The finish of the table is plush, and is the perfect surface for your mouse and keyboard, with plenty of real estate for your monitor(s) and any other items or peripherals you that have kicking around, not to mention the included headset rack and drinks holder – mine usually sports a hazelnut coffee, or a bourbon with a healthy helping of ice – it’s a good night’s gaming with the RGB LED lights weaving their magic, reflecting off the corners of the room, setting the scene for whichever game I’m about to play.
The anti-scratch top layer covering is easy to polish, giving it a great look, whilst it’s worth mentioning that it’s a product made from sustainable woods. The desk lighting controls are also touch sensitive, meaning that you can switch between the ten lighting modes easily, and the whole plug-in process is simple and effective.
SUMMARY
A solid and accessible desk that has a lot of character, the GXT 709 Luminus RGB Gaming Desk can be as subtle or as stylish as you want, and slots into a hardcore teenage gamers’ bedroom just as easily as it slips into a more ‘mature’ gamers’ office or game room. Good!
