Following in the footsteps of its acclaimed predecessor, this narrative-driven, dice roller, sci-fi RPG once again places you in the fragile body of a Sleeper—a digitized consciousness fighting for survival in a hostile universe. But where many games punish failure, Citizen Sleeper 2 thrives on it. Every dice roll, every misstep, every imperfect outcome becomes part of a living story that adapts and grows around you.

At the heart of Citizen Sleeper 2 lies its signature dice system. Each cycle, you’re given a pool of dice representing your available actions. High rolls can be assigned to critical tasks—repairing a ship, negotiating with a faction, or uncovering lost technology—while low rolls might be relegated to riskier endeavours. 

The beauty of this system is that it forces you to weigh opportunity against consequence.

Unlike traditional RPGs where a bad roll might feel like a setback, here failure is woven into the narrative fabric. It must be said: Citizen Sleeper 2 demands a willingness to read. Dialogue, lore entries, and narrative descriptions form the backbone of the experience. This isn’t a game that rushes you from one action set-piece to another. Instead, it invites you to sink into its world through words.

Conversations feel authentic, and the branching narrative ensures that your choices carry weight. But for those who prefer fast-paced action, the sheer volume of text may feel daunting. This is a game that rewards patience and reflection, not instant gratification.

So I'd recommend plugging in those earphones and immersing yourself in the world (I love to play just before bed on my Steam Deck when no one is around to interrupt my CS2 time).
