When we started the Games Freezer blog it was to re visit what made us fall in love with video games in the first place.

It was born out of a frustration that we felt that mainstream video games had lost touch with the real reason we play video games.

FUN……..Fun is the reason we play games and the reason we started to play video games back in the day.

As we stared into the abyss of today’s gaming world bleakly we didn't like what we saw……..

We saw games companies so far removed from the pioneers of the early 80's gaming scene that they no longer really knew their audience.

That’s when we decided to create Games Freezer.......

We wanted to create a place away from all the Bull Shit that's out there surrounding Video Games at the moment.

A place where we can share the love of video games past and present that share the same spirit as the video Games pioneers from yesteryear.

We envisage Games Freezer as a place where you can come and see the latest creations from the Indie scene or some really cool game art or maybe learn about a retrogaming classic or what about just geeking out on a time-line of retro consoles?

After Games Freezer was born and we got involved in the video games scene, we quickly found an amazing online community of like minded people who seem to get what we are trying to achieve.

There are some really cool people from all over the world who are into this amazing games scene as much as we are and they live it every day, just like we do.

Whether that be on Twitter, Google + or You Tube there's an amazing set of people that we never knew existed.

Contrary to popular belief they are not the so called FAN BOYS that fill the forums of various websites with vitriol about who's console is better.

The great people we have found are people that just love video games and they have no ulterior agenda or motive, they just love video games and the FUN that they can bring.

They appreciate the work and craftsmanship that went into games that were made on systems that are no longer sold but which still to this day create great excitement and awe.

We also have discovered the brilliant game devs who are still producing games in the spirit of the Video Games Pioneers.

We have much love for these dudes and dudettes who really use their ingenuity on a limited budget to create amazing masterpieces.

At the beginning of this journey we were full of pesimism about the video games world and the gamer community, but almost a year on we now know that these amazing people exist and that video games community is in safe hands….

BIG LOVE TO YOU ALL …. AND KEEP SUPPORTING THE COOL COMMUNITY WE ALL BELONG TO!

What's your experience of the various online video games communities?

What's your favourite online community?

★"Dino Dini To Develop Kick Off HD Remake?"★ @dndn1011 #RetroGaming #GamersUnite

When we talk football / soccer video games, there is only one undisputed video game series that started it all off and that has to be the Kick Off Series

Any mention of Kick Off throws us way back into our childhoods as we wrestled with Kick Off 2 trying to get to grips with dribbling the ball and timing our shots at goal just right.

Kick Off 2

The Kick Off Series was one of those gems that was easy to play but hard to master.

But when you got close to mastering it, it rewarded you with slick passing moves and some amazing goals.

If you scored in Kick Off you felt like you'd really earned it. If you dribbled round / past an opponent you felt like Pele!

Kick Off was simple yet complex and was to the go to game whenever 2 player gaming was on offer
We played Kick Off back in the days of the Amiga A500 and the disk was rarely out of the disk drive (Only ever really replaced by Championship Manager)

To this day there is a thriving Kick Off Community which still host Kick Off World Cups around Europe!

Take a look at the amazing community at KO Gathering to see what fun these guys still have with Dino Dini's amazingly simple yet totally absorbing football game!

So when we heard that The Godfather Of Football Games Dino Dini has been supposedly eager to guage peoples interests in him developing an HD Remake of Kick Off (Player Manager / GOAL!)

To say we were excited was an understatement and to get us really excited there is an online petition to get signing too!

So we'd like to make a heartfelt plea to ALL of The Friends Of The Freezer to sign this petition as it would be a dream come true for us all here in The Freezer to see a HD remake of Kick Off!

What would you like to see in a Kick Off / Player Manager / GOAL! Remake?

The Chimps At Play Team Had This To Say About All That Is "CHIMPS AT PLAY"

"I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.....
My name is Paul “The Giant” Morris and my associate and co founder of Chimps At Play goes by the name of Karl “Fazza” Farrell

Together, we created Chimps At Play – an entertainment reviewing company specialising in video games, music, movies and comedy.

Imagine, if you will, journalism but with humour.
Essentially, Chimps At Play is an online magazine (or e-zine) aimed at, but not exclusive to, the 18-25 year old demographic.

GamesFreezer

We use social media to interact with our followers and subscribers, and we are currently developing a website which will bring all of our Facebook, Twitter and YouTube content together in one place, as well as offering an online outlet for our Chimps At Play merchandise.

We ask for feedback from fans in most things we do, and the website will be no exception.

We want this to be just as much the fans website as it is ours.
Aside from myself and Fazza, we have four “content creators” who upload a mixture of news stories and articles they have created themselves.

These are staggered throughout the day so that there is a constant feed for our fans.

The news stories and updates that we post, pertaining to the gaming industry, are almost always exclusives.
We are also always looking to support indie developers.
Chimps At Play was created in April 2013 and in the short time since, we have significantly increased our viewership.

This can be evidenced by the amount of interaction and likes on our Facebook page, Our Twitter followers and our YouTube subscribers."
