🧙‍♀️🥔 Wunderling | Review | Nintendo Switch | *Wunderling ist Wunderbar!* 🧙‍♀️🥔 @retroidofficial #GameDev #IndieGames

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Wunderling is a pixel-art puzzle platformer with a deviously casual approach and is well worth your time.
Set in a colourful, 16-bit world, Wunderling casts you as a potato-ish henchman of the land’s ‘evil’ witch, a broomstick-riding little tinker that spreads the gospel of her wickedness through the medium of an anthropomorphic cow with a TV camera strapped to its back, natch.

At the start of your quest – which will take you across many dozens of levels – you are stomped by the hero, Carrot Man, on his way to rescue Princess Pea (any similarities to existing video game characters are purely coincidental) and brought back to life by the witch and told to stop Carrot Man at all costs, thus your adventure begins.

"The Darkest Time In Human History”
Going into this game I didn’t truly know what to expect but what I experienced will stay with me forever.
You play the role of a resistance leader who is trying to organise the disruption of the Hitler regime in 1933 Berlin and beyond.

🏯🎎⚔️ Katana Zero | REVIEW | PC | "A Must Buy For Any Indie Gamer" 🏯🎎⚔️ #GameDev #IndieGames

Share This Post On Share to Facebook Share to Twitter Share This Post On
Katana Zero is set around a Samurai Assassin type character who can shift through time to kill targets. It’s a 2D action platformer developed by Asjiisoft and published by Devolver Digital. It seems to take something from the Hotline Miami collection, not a lot, but I see some similarities in the game. The game is very fast-paced so be ready to play as a fast, time travelling Samurai with a complicated background.

🛸 🧠 It Came From Space and Ate Our Brains| Review | PS4 | "Britt & 'Co-Op Chris Tuck In" 🧠 🛸 #GameDev #IndieGames @trianglestudios

It Came From Space and Ate Our Brains is a stylised voxel-based shooter that was originally released on PC in 2015 and is reminiscent of titles such as the mighty dead Nation and has shades of Neon Chrome.

It Came From Space and Ate Our Brains is a super-smooth and addictive isometric game that revels in its local co-op, split-screen glory but whilst it’s a solid and fun title, its basic premise and singular focus may not be to everyone’s tastes.

📰🎥 Headliner: Novinews | Review | PS4 | "A Game That Deserves to Make Headlines" 📰🎥 @UnboundCreation #IndieGames #GameDev

Headliner Novinews Review PS4
As the titular Headliner, it’s your job to choose which articles make it into Novinews, the national newspaper of the fictional country ‘Novistan’.

Each choice you make will have an impact not just in the wider world but will also massively affect co-workers, family and friends but can also threaten your very existence.
Presented in a format that’s reminiscent of a very, very light visual novel (this is a good thing), Headliner: Novinews presents the world as a single street to act as a microcosm of what is happening in the further reaches of the world.

When thinking of Pig Eat Ball imagine a game that puts you in control of a pig in disguise as she attempts to suck up tennis inside a clam in order to win pearls and open up more areas of the game map all accompanied by a thumping soundtrack and bat shit crazy psychedelic visuals with an overtone of Hotline Miami and Monty Python.

Everspace is a roguelike single-player game where you fly a spaceship and there is a story, told through flashbacks.
In Everspace, you have to die to succeed. Sounds weird but it’s true! When you die you can use your credits to buy upgrades and even new ships to go back and get farther than the last time.

A solid single-player, pixel-art Metroidvania, SuperEpic is an absolute joy for the vast majority of its running time but a lacklustre final sprint combined with a diabolical map system detracts from what could have been a truly memorable title.

I’m a big fan of well-made games that have a tongue firmly in cheek whilst being backed up by fun gameplay. In this regard, Door Kickers: Action Squad delivers shovelfuls of gaming gold.

A slightly different type of game to what I was initially expecting and all the better for it.
