From the Website:
'Agent Fall is an action game inspired by classic titles, where you face an intergalactic government conspiracy. With aliens siding with the government, you, as an agent, must take down this dark alliance. Prepare for frantic combat, with powerful weapons, relentless enemies, and epic bosses.'Beginning in the desert, through an environmental tutorial, you are shown how to launch the limited grenades at your disposal toward the enemy, as well as simple traversal, as well as being introduced to weapon upgrades. The characters are squat and reminiscent of the recently-reviewed Gunslugs, with a precise sense of movement on the platforming side of things.
The enemies vary dependent on the level in hand, but aside from the occasional screen-filling boss battle, the incredibly simplistic gameplay of moving right whilst traversing simple obstacles and occasionally stopping to pick off waves of enemies that come from both sides – a doddle with two of you in co-op mode – Agent Fall doesn’t offer challenge or enough variety to get your teeth into, and as the game is only a few levels long, you may be watching the credits roll sooner than you might think.
SUMMARY
Agent Fall is very much a perfunctory affair, offering very little in the way of fresh ideas.
Agent Fall is very much a perfunctory affair, offering very little in the way of fresh ideas.
That said, at its price point, the simple gameplay mechanics, and overall sense of breeziness with which the game moves means that this would be ideal as an entry level title, or for players who want to smash through a game in an hour or so.
For anyone else, this may be a little too lean on the bone to get stuck in.
