A couple of things got me excited today in the dreary London rain....

I picked up my usual copy of Shortlist on a Thursday and as I always do I searched for some good video games stories or features to inspire me for the Games Freezer blog.....

Not much was in this weeks issue but then I stumbled across this cool sounding Comedy Tour.....

"FOOTBALL MANAGER RUINED MY LIFE"

Anyone who's obsessed over and played FM to death can at least in part empathise with that statement......

FM is the crack cocaine of video games and it's a tough addiction to shake!

Inspired by this article on Kotaku I thought it would be a good opportunity to trawl through the Lucas Arts Archives and try and whittle down the Back Catalogue to my 5 Favourite Lucas Arts video games of all time.

 

With so many great games to choose from this is a tough task….but I'm ready for the challenge as as I don my Stan The Boat Dealer's hat and set sail for the mystical land of cool Lucas Arts video games….

Playing video games at the ripe old age of 34 (nearly 35) is a different prospect to playing video games when I was 18.

 

The whole spare time issue rears its ugly head and of course family life must come first.

 

So for me to play a video game in its entirety and to its conclusion there is an ingenious algorithm that I need to take into consideration in order to free up previous 'dead time' in my day. (The algorithm is a classified secret that I am unable to divulge)

At the time of writing there is only 5 Days until Play Expo rolls into town and satisfies the needs of todays diverse set of Video Gamers!

 

The 2 day event runs from Saturday 11th to Sunday 12th October and takes place at Manchester Event City.

 

This year the Play dudes have set up 5 Zones for gamers to visit which makes it one of the most representative Video Games Shows out there.
