Over The Last Few Days I've My Head Inside an Old Copy Of The "Guiness Book Of Records - Gamers Edition" From 2010.....

It got me thinking about some of the cool records that have been made in Video Games over the years....

So,I've had a little scour across the net to see what records are out there...

Imagine how cool it would be to break one of these records and have your name in the Gamers Edition of the Guiness Book Of Records!!

1.Video Game Screenshots
"The largest collection of video games screenshots features over 17,000 unique items, achieved by Rikardo Granda (Colombia), all of which are taken from the Castlevania video games series by Konami. They were counted on 18 July 2008."

2.Fighting Game Marathon
"The longest videogame marathon playing a fighting game lasted 48 hours exactly. The Game Emporium in Garrettsville, Ohio, USA, welcomed Anthony "AJ" Lysiak (USA, above) and his endless character match-ups for this two day marathon playing Street Fighter X Tekken (2012)."

3.Biggest Pac Man Score
"24 year-old Stephen Kish from Hove, East Sussex, is recognised for the high score record on Pac-Man (5,555,552 points)"

4.Most Expensive Videogame
"The most expensive videogame that is commercially available is GRID 2: Mono Edition (Codemasters, 2013), which retails in the UK for £125,000 ($190,100)"

5.Largest Playable Area In A Videogame
"The PC Version of Minecraft holds the record for the largest land-based videogame area, as of 26 June 2013. Although Minecraft's map is technically infinite – the further you go, the more land is generated – a hard limit on chunks (groupings of blocks) means a maximum possible world size of 4,722,366,482,869,645 km²."

6.First Videogame In Space
"Tetris for Game Boy (Nintendo, 1989) became the first videogame in space when Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr A. Serebrov (b. 15 February 1944) packed for his 1993 mission aboard the Mir space station. The cartridge left Earth on the Soyuz TM-17 rocket on 1 July 1993 and returned 196 days 17 hours later, having orbited the Earth more than 3,000 times. Invented in the Soviet Union, Tetris was regarded as an apt game for the cosmonaut. Serebrov's game was later auctioned off in Bonham's 2011 Space History sale for the sum of $1,220."

7.Best-Selling Gaming Heroine
"With lifetime series sales swelling to 35 million following the release of the 2013 reboot, Tomb Raider remains the best-selling videogame franchise with a female lead."

8.Fastest Speedrun Of "Paperboy: Easy Street" (Game Boy Color)
"Ryan W. completed Paperboy: Easy Street in nine minutes, 37.34 seconds."

9.Fastest Pitch In "Wii Sports: Baseball"
"Viktor O. threw a pitch clocked at 94 mph in Wii Sports: Baseball."

10. Fastest Completion Of Pokemon FireRed On Gameboy Advance
"Garrett Rosswick completed Pokemon FireRed in six hours, 53 minutes on his Gameboy Advance."
