Batora: Lost Haven was a game that really caught my eye when I first saw the trailer, I hadn’t played an ARPG in some time and fancied getting hips deep into some demon-killing action, and if there was a narrative to suck me in, all the better!

🤡 Dropsy Nintendo Switch Review 8/10 "Hug is all you Need" 🤡 @dropsytheclown #IndieGames #GameDev
Sometimes, there’s nothing finer than a graphic adventure with pixel graphics. It’s a genre and style that has worked since the ‘80s, and through tweaks and differing approaches, still has plenty of life left in it - as illustrated here, by Dropsy.

The Medium Original Game Soundtrack - Vinyl Review "Creeping Horror From Within" 📀💿 @blackscreenrec #Vinyl #VideoGameVinyl
Bloober Team’s 2021 psychological horror The Medium was rich in atmosphere, and a large part of that was due to the score by Yamaoka and Reikowski. I was lucky enough to catch an Akira Yamaoka show in my hometown of Cardiff back in 2015 - bizarrely enough, I’ve just realised that it’s exactly seven years ago to the very day that I’m writing this article – spooky.

🐒🏝️ Return To Monkey Island Review 7/10 "The 90’s. If you’re too young to remember them, they were great." 🐒🏝️ @grumpygamer @terribletoybox #ReturnToMonkeyIsland
The 90’s. If you’re too young to remember them, they were great. Bands were cheap to go and see, you didn’t need to mortgage a kidney to heat your house or feed yourself, and beer was reasonably priced.
But none of that mattered to me back then because we had point-and-click adventures. Which were ace.

🎬🎥 The Gallery Xbox Series X Review 8/10 “An Insightful and Engaging Exhibition” 🎥🎬 @paulraschid #IndieGames #FMVGames #GameDev
Paul Raschid is a big name in the FMV/interactive movie genre, having written and directed the wonderful and engaging Five Dates. His name carries a pedigree, and after Five Dates I hoped that The Gallery would continue pushing FMV games forward, with interesting stories, great acting and choices that are both thoughtful and contemplative.
Going into the gallery, it’s fair to say that I had high expectations - they were definitely met.

⌨️ Outshine PC Review 6/10 "Outshine is one of those games that’s like patting your head while rubbing your belly" ⌨️ @PixelHunted @OutshineGame #IndieGames #GameDev
As someone who spends literally every hour of my working day with my fingers on a keyboard, I figured I’d sail through Outshine. Type words to blast enemies?

🎙️ Trust GXT241 VELICA Microphone Review "the Velica is like a little wolverine" 🎙️ @TrustGaming
Trust GXT241 VELICA Microphone
Microphones are one of those accessories that people can spend days comparing and ‘iffing and butting about’, much like turntables. I’ve covered some great microphones here at GF, but the Trust GXT241 Velica streaming microphone really made an impact with its sheer simplicity, accessibility and sound quality.

🏔️⛰️ The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow PC Review 9/10 "Everything about the game is immediately appealing" 🏔️⛰️ @shaunaitcheson #GameDev #IndieGames
Until recently, if I wanted to hear this many gruff Northerners telling each other to bugger off I’d have to dig out my Ken Loach DVD collection.
Now that I’ve visited Bewlay, and delved deep into Hob’s Barrow (not a euphemism), I have access to another world in which robust vernacular is firmly on the menu.
♥️♣️♠️♦️ Low-Risk Online Casino Games You Should Try ♥️♣️♠️♦️
Online casino games can be lucrative but also hard to win. The games are designed in a way that makes it difficult to predict the outcome, so it can take time to learn the ropes and build up some winning strategies. However, there are some low-risk games that offer better odds for players, and these can be a good starting point. Once you have a feel for how the games work, you can start to increase your stakes and try to win big.
💰 Esports Betting Tips That'll Worth Your Time 💰
Esports, or electronic sports, is a term used to describe the competitive playing of video games. While it may seem like a new phenomenon, esports actually has a long and storied history.
The year 2000 marked the rise of online streaming services like Twitch and YouTube, which allowed gamers to share their gameplay footage with the world. This led to a surge in the popularity of many esports titles, culminating in the creation of the International e-Sports Federation (IeSF).
Today, esports is a multi-billion dollar industry with millions of fans worldwide. The best players can make six-figure salaries by competing in major tournaments like the League of Legends World Championship or The International Dota 2 Championships. Esports is now firmly established as a mainstream form of entertainment and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

🏎️💿🎶 Ridge Racer Infinity Video Game Music Review (RoBKTA) 🏎️💿🎶 @firagarecords #VGM #VideoGameMusic
I have something of an odd history with dance music. Like many who grew up in the mid-90s, my distinct opinion was that proper music had to have proper instruments, i.e. guitar, bass, and drums. Even the keyboard was a bit racy for my liking.
That said, I never turned off thumping video game soundtracks as, to me, they didn’t count, so I would happily listen to the mental Rotterdam Nation across the Ridge Racer games and think nothing of it.
Of course, like every grunge-slash-indie fan, once I heard Born Slippy, all bets were off and I remain a dedicated raver to this day.

🛤️🏞️ A Winding Path Nintendo Switch Review 8/10 "A Path to Light Your Way" 🛤️🏞️ #IndieGames #GameDev
I’ve always been a sucker for black and white, sketchy, pen ‘ n ink art styles in video games. A recent example would be the wonderful Mundaun, although here, Mundaun’s folkloric, creeping horror is replaced with breezy 2D strolling and featherweight puzzling, combined with calming music and audio to create a relaxing atmosphere as you make your way through the world.
A Winding Path starts with your character outside a farmhouse, near a scarecrow and some fields. Viewed from the side, the sketched world is captured in an expressive format, with the sounds of wind whistling through the fields and trickling water blending well with the penmanship that makes up the visuals.

🧱 LEGO Bricktales XSX Review 7.5/10 "Build Me Up, Buttercup" 🧱 #LEGOBrickTales #LEGO @Thunderfulgames
I’ve played quite a few LEGO games over the years – mostly in local multiplayer – and they’ve always had a lot to offer in terms of accessible fun.
Admittedly, the sheer amount of movie franchise-based games did get a bit wearying, but LEGO City Undercover and the more open-world, sandbox games were highlights, and so – when offered LEGO Bricktales to review, I just assumed that there would be an inherent quality to whatever approach was taken here (as I’d not heard of the game beforehand) and yes, LEGO has (mostly) woven their magic again, and this time in a game that feels the most traditional ‘LEGO’ game yet.
