☆Website Of The Day - "Hall Of Light"☆ #RetroGaming #GamersUnite #Amiga

RetroGaming, Amiga

The Hall Of Light (HOL)

The HOL Project's Mission is to catalogue all the official games that were released commercially for the Commodore Amiga

When you first visit the site the first thing that springs to mind is that it is minimalist in design as you are presented with a set of search parameters with little fuss made about the presentation of the site itself.

But you soon learn that less IS more as the database stands at a HUGE 5590 games!

Once you undertake a search you are presented with a really smart and simple screen that shows a screen-shot from the game and then has various tabs to highlight key information about the game such as:

  • General Information Tab - Giving Year Of Release, Number Of Disks, Publisher, Number Of Players, Genre etc
  • Reviews - Listing the reviews and scores from those reviews with a link to those reviews
  • Manual - Where possible, a link to an online manual is given
  • Cheat Code - Where possible a Cheatcode is listed
  • Web Link - A list of other sites such as Lemon Amiga etc that feature the game
  • Screen-shot - Showcases additional screenshots for the game
  • Box Scan - A scan of the original Box Art
  • Disk Scan - A scan of the original disk
  • Misc Shot - A scan of other materials that may be of interest from the original game
  • Conversion - Screenshots from other system conversions of the same game
  • Game Map - Where one exists a scan of the game map will be included

The website highlights the following re it's marvellous database:

"Most games in the database are of the boxed, commercial variety but there are exceptions:

  • Licenceware games are considered commercial enough to be included.
  • Shareware, freeware and general Public Domain games are generally not present but they may be added if they form a fuller picture of a commercial person or entity.
  • A number of unreleased Amiga games are referenced. The status of these games varies; some exist in a near-complete or demo form while others never progressed beyond the announcement stage.
  • Some Open Source conversions (e.g. Doom) and games playable through interpreters (e.g. ScummVM or Exult) are listed. These are considered 'native' Amiga games."

We were lost in RetroGaming Heaven for hours searching out our favourite Amiga games over the years and drooling over the BIG BOX art and the screenshots.

For Any Amiga fan this should be your number one port of all call for all things Amiga, so get on over there now to unearth such gems as "The Bards Tale III"

Tell us what you think of HOL assuming you can tear yourself away from the site!

Retrogaming, SEGA, Master System

The SEGA Master System  is loved by all of the Games Freezer team as it brings back fond memories of games like Wonder Boy In Monsterland , Psycho Fox , Alex Kidd In Miracle World , Alex Kidd In Shinobi World and of course The Snail Game??!!

So imagine how excited we were when we found an online love letter of a website totally devoted to this wonderful retrogaming console.

SegaMasterSystem.com is a website that seeks to entertain its visitors with plenty of amusing content.

Most of the content is in video format but there are also some cool written parts of the website like the Master System & You feature where Master System fans have shared some great stories of their Master System memories. Check them out, there's tons of cool SEGA Master System memories in that there section!

Then you have the videos, to say that these are well made is an understatement, we really enjoyed watching these odes to the Master System but the one we loved the most was the SEGA fan gate crashing the PS4 launch, Pure Genius!

You can tell from the way the site is put together it is an absolute labour of love and we smiled from ear to ear as we lapped up the nostalgia from this site.

That's why it is officially The Games Freezer Website Of The Day!

☆Japsters Retro Cavern☆

We have really uncovered a gem of a website this time......

We have struck RetroGaming GOLD with this one.......

A true Aladdin's cave of great hardware and software from the golden age of gaming.....

Games Freezer introduces to you all......

"Japsters Retro Cavern"

So what's it all about then? (we hear you cry!)

Well Den (the guy who owns this site and it's amazing contents) is a true RetroGaming Collector / Hoarder who really needs to clear some space from his vast collection.

What this guy doesn't own in the way of RetroGaming hardware and software is basically not worth owning!

We have trawled his site and there's a ton of great stuff on there for sale with lots being added daily.

Check out the Japsters Retro Cavern Blog for updates on the latest listings to make sure you don't miss out on great bargain or a rare gem to complete your own collection.

Also sign up to the newsletter to get the latest news on listings (especially those rare items)

Also visit Japsters BookFace page to become a bona fide fan!

In the meantime, read what Den has to say about his C☆☆L Website!

"Hi! - I'm Den.

I'm a collector/hoarder, who's decided to cut down to the essentials and help pay my bills/recoup some of the HUGE amount that I've spent out through all of the years that I've been acquiring my monster collection.

As a result, there will be many, many different items for sale on here, some common, some not so common, and some that are extremely rare and hard to obtain.

As it's a massive, MASSIVE process for just myself to photograph, describe, and list every item (some 10,000+ items), this is definitely going to take a while! - I'd therefore recommend either joining my mailing list for a weekly or fortnightly update, with important updates sent out in between these times if need be (i.e. genuinely rare items added, etc!), or simply checking back whenever you have a chance, and checking my blog - if I've added anything relevant to your particular area(s) of interest, you'll hopefully see it before someone else does!

If it helps to know, I'm located in the West Midlands, and I'm MORE than happy for buyers to collect, from small purchases, through to bulkier ones (i.e. - like my Commodore Pet items!), and of course, I have a kettle!...  ;)

For background reference, I've been selling off bits of my collection on EBAY for over 7 years now, and my ID is japster2004, so if you want to reassure yourself that I'm an honest, reliable and reputable guy, please feel free to check my 100% positive feedback from nearly 1,100 very satisfied buyers!

Last, but perhaps the most important point! - I'm by no means an authority on the definite value of some of my rarer items, so PLEASE feel free to point out any glaring differences PRIVATELY to me, in the interests of courtesy, and if my close circle of collector friends agree, I'll be more that happy to amend my guide prices accordingly...   :) "

So What Are You C ☆☆L FREEZER Followers waiting for ?

Head on over to Japster's Retro Cavern Now for some great RetroGaming bargains!

Dream Commodore Amiga Setup....

We love the smell of Retro Gaming in the morning..........

That's exactly the smell we encountered when we discovered this gem of a website! www.realityglitch.com

Being massive Commodore Amiga fans here in The Freezer we just love the banner on this site.

It's a picture of a Cool "Amiga 500" on a desk with Sensible Software's legendary Cannon Fodder loaded up ready to play.

That picture sets the tone for "Reality Glitch" with the opening line underneath that reads "Welcome To The World Of Yesterday!"

Now onto what this piece of website retro gaming goodness has to offer.........

A large chunk of Reality Glitches' articles are Amiga related, which we absolutely can't get enough of!

For example we got really excited in one of the articles where the talk is all about "Favourite Amiga Demo Disks"

As we read on we found that one of our all time demo disc Amiga mashups is mentioned! "CANNON SOCCER"

Great Stuff! We Love it!

Also within the Amiga articles, we found a really good piece on The Bitmap Brothers

Sifting through the site we also found some great articles on Arcade Gaming which included a review of one of our fave Arcade Games of all time "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"

4 PLAYER MENTALISM AT ITS BEST!

Overall, we spent a good couple of hours reading some of the cool articles on Reality Glitch and we cant wait for the next installement!

Reality Glitch - It's time for you to GET IN THE FREEZER as our WEBSITE OF THE DAY!

Take a look at Reality Glitch today and let us know if it got your retro juices flowing?
