I first played Oh Sir on Steam last year when I picked the game up in a sale for a few pence. It only provided me with about thirty minutes’ combined worth of entertainment but nonetheless I felt like I had my money’s worth from the game.

Fast-forward twelve months to playing the same game on the Switch, combined with the spin-off title The Hollywood Roast and it’s fair to say that the joke has worn thin.

When it comes to video games, most look to the graphics to determine if a game is playable or not and if it’s likely to be entertaining or not.

However, there are many other video games that do not just impress when it comes to graphics but whose impressiveness transcends to the soundtracks as well.

The following are such kind of games and they are accessible from NetBet Casino for those who want to try them and see if they are indeed the real deal.

There have been a lot of video game releases recently for the Switch and I’ve noticed a fair few of these are ports from Steam from several years ago (Crimsonland for £15, anyone?) of varying quality and so coming across a game like Shu which has clearly being loving ported with attention to detail and also at a very impressive price (£7.69 at the time of writing) is a genuine breath of fresh air.

A platformer that feels familiar but with its own unique twists, Shu is a golden addition to any Switch owner’s collection.

I know what you are all thinking after reading the title of this video game, but no, it’s not about a group of men from Yorkshire walking around, singing religious songs and refusing to excuse people’s faults.
Unforgiving: A Northern Hymn is a horror game set somewhere in Scandinavia and voiced entirely in Swedish with English subtitles. Considering its status as an independent game, it has extremely high production values and approaches its story with a keen eye for pacing and scares.

Orange Moon

Platform reviewed: PC (Steam)

Rating: Melting

Orange Moon begins promisingly enough; you are dropped on a distinctly orange Moon with some weapons and ammo to begin your mission, a mission that is split into days and involved traversing the harsh landscape looking for resources.

The game sets a solid mood and has great, sharp graphics and a suitably minimalist audio approach but sadly has some serious issues that unfortunately impact the game quite severely that make playing it a chore.

Lucius De-make
Platform reviewed: PC (Steam)
Rating: Melting
The story of Lucius owes a great deal to the 1976 film ‘The Omen’, whereby a child is born of the Devil and raised in a human household. I played the original game a few years ago and found it to be a solid, entertaining idea poorly implemented with cumbersome controls and gameplay that could learn a great deal from the more fluid and interactive Hitman series in that Lucius didn’t feel particularly user-friendly or clear, often resulting in wandering around the house unsure of what to do in order to trigger the next section of the game.

The trailer makes this video game look really enticing. Of course, that is what trailers are supposed to do, but what I mean is that I thought it was offering something like Mario Kart meets Burnout but in space, an enticing concept, and instead I got one of those knockoff animal mascot racers from the PS1 era with a lot more visual polish. Pang Man Part 32: Cool Collectibles, Pokรฉmon Soft Drinks
Having had a tasty lunch in Soho on Christmas Eve, I decided I had best walk it off with a quick trip to Chinatown.
Unfortunately, it was at this point that the weather gods decided to bless us with a bit of heavy rain.
Seeking shelter, I huddled under a random shop canopy nearby. There was an internal debate in my mind over whether to wait out the rain or to brave the weather then and there, however, something out of the corner of my eye caught my attention.
It was the window display of the small food shop I was next to. Piled up on top of each other were some familiar characters. “Holy shit”, I thought to myself, “Pokรฉmon!”

Hand Of Fate 2 - PS4

When I was growing up in the 80’s and 90’s I would often visit my friend Lee’s house to play video games on his SEGA Master System.

For some reason, we played a lot of World Cup ITALIA 90 which was an awful game but nonetheless held our attention for countless afternoons after school.

Whilst playing on Lee’s Master System we would have to play in Lee’s brother’s bedroom as he had the only TV upstairs.

It was whilst in Lee’s brother’s bedroom that I discovered something called Dungeons & Dragons.

I make no secret of my love for co-operative video games, growing up in the 80’s and 90’s and having a younger brother; co-operative games have been a huge part of my personal gaming history.

I’ve played truly great local co-op games over the last few years, games that were fine in single-player mode but elevated immeasurably when played in local co-op.

Games such as Hunted, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Dead Nation, Mother Russia Bleeds, Broforce, Crimsonland and 7 Days to Die spring to mind as recent titles I’ve played through and I’m sure there are many more that I’ve missed.

Much like the great traveller Odysseus, who spent so many years from home, I have also been on a long journey back to that place. No, not Ithaca—for me, the Mushroom Kingdom, and my passion for exploration. I just finished my first of what will be many playthroughs, and I did not want it to end.
Nintendo wanted to send their hero on a far-reaching adventure as he sought to reclaim his bride—again, like in Homer’s Odyssey—and some will boil it down to an attractive looking collect-a-thon—attempting to separate pieces of a wholly blended experience—but for me it was a joyous epic that came close to recapturing more than just what I could throw my hat on.
Mario’s next great video game experience is here, and it is time to dive into the craziness, moustache first.
